Meet Dr. Ryan Carpenter

Being a dentist means I am able to combine my loves for science and art in a manner that helps the people in my community. Each day I am happy that I can assist others get out of pain, achieve better oral health, and develop beautiful smiles, all while building lasting relationships with them. Having been raised in Clackamas, I care for people who are my friends and neighbors, and it’s always a great feeling to see a familiar, smiling face come into the practice.

My father, Dr. Bradley Carpenter, is the other dentist here at 82nd Drive Dental, and it’s great to work alongside him. I have learned much from him, in terms of technical skills, but also about developing and maintaining real relationships with our patients. Seeing the friendships that he’s built over the years, and how rewarding they are, strengthens my resolve to carry on the tradition.

Education and Continuing Education

I attended Oregon Health Sciences University where I was awarded my Doctorate in Dental Medicine. Passionate about learning, and knowing that dentistry is a constantly evolving field, I seek out continuing education opportunities. This allows me to be on the leading-edge of technologies and treatment options, ensuring I am able to provide my patients with the best care available.

In addition to participation in oral healthcare meetings, seminars, and lectures, I am a member of Dental Research, which is a General Dentistry Study Club that focuses on lectures and hands-on clinical demonstrations. I am also an active member of the Academy of Sports Medicine.

Outside the Office

I was married on February 1st, 2014, to my beloved wife Brandy. We share our home with a dog named Mason. I have four siblings, Amy, Bailie, Kenzie, and Reece, and enjoy spending time with them as well as with my parents. Being outside and active is a part of who I am, whether I’m hiking, camping, fly fishing, or working in our garden.

I feel it’s my responsibility to give back to and support my community, so I volunteer with the NW Compassion Clinic, which provides free dental care to those who cannot otherwise afford treatment.
